I enjoy the stimulation, challenge and excitement of painting in open air rather than painting from photos in the studio. In the field the sun moves, the wind blows, the clouds move. Your scene can change fast. Forget about the bug on your nose or the ants that want to invade your socks. Just get the color down. You don't have the luxury of a calm studio. Each painting is a challenge.
